Large mopheads of closely-packed flowers become a clear, aqua-blue if shrubs are planted in acid soil or a pale-pink in sweet soil. Considered one of the best Hydrangeas for drying. This heirloom plant was hybridized by Frenchman Emile Mouillere in 1909.
