Description:
Thick, fleshy stalks bearing cream-yellow spadices hooded by showy spathes appear in the spring followed in the fall by red berries and fresh, arrow-shaped leaves marbled with pale veins. Foliage persists through the winter then vanishes with the arrival of summer’s heat. Plant in humus-rich, moist but well-draining soil.
